About Roger Bruce

Saving Our Society Pretrial Intervention was born out of the vision of our Vice President, Derron Daley, and Roger Bruce, a Georgia State Representative from Atlanta, who has spent most of his adult life dedicated to worthwhile causes. As Vice President for Human Resources for Atlanta Life Financial Group, Roger Bruce provides assistance and education to others, and he has also spent the last 10 years serving on the Judiciary Committee in the Georgia House of Representatives.

Personal Life
Born in Harlem, New York, Roger Bruce attended St. Emma Military Academy and graduated from Morehouse College where he majored in Political Science. He is married to Angela and has three children, Andrea, Brandon, and Ariel.

Political Career
In his role as State Representative, Rep. Bruce has served on the Insurance and Education Committees. He currently serves on the Judiciary, MARTOC, Motor Vehicles and Intergovernmental Coordination Committees. First elected in November 2001, he was most recently reelected in November 2008. He also served as a delegate to the Democratic National Convention in August 2008. Rep. Bruce was chosen once again to be a delegate at the Democratic National Convention in September of 2012 in Charlotte, North Carolina.

HR Career
In his role as VP of Human Resources & Facilities Management, Rep. Bruce is responsible for all employee and tenant services. This includes recruitment and retention, training and management development, legal compliance, benefits, and all other aspects of human resources.

Focused on Families & Education
Roger Bruce focuses on issues related to children, education, services to senior adults, families with special needs children, and working families. The Atlanta Police Department recognized him for his efforts to protect their officers by organizing the community and business owners to raise money for bulletproof vests. He has been recognized for his work by many organizations, including:

Rep. Bruce serves on the Board of Trustees at The Interdenominational Theological Center, the Board Directors for Fulton Atlanta Community
Action Authority, Inc. and All Children Are Special. He is a member of Leadership Atlanta class of 1980, and the 2006 class of the Flemming
Leadership Institute.
